New Appointments System

Following Dr Lindsay’s retirement, we are in an interim period before we welcome our new Partner, Dr Andrew Cox, who joins the Practice on 14 August 2017. In response to patient feedback and demand, we are implementing the following appointments system from Monday 19 June:

Aberfoyle Medical Centre

  • New opening times on Mondays – 8:30am to 1pm
  • “On the day” appointments bookable by phone from 8am on Monday mornings
  • Doors open at 8:30am
  • Extended hours, mainly for commuters, from 7:15am on alternate Tuesdays

Buchlyvie Medical Centre

  • Open/walk-in surgeries discontinued to avoid long waiting times

  • “On the day” appointments bookable every morning from 8am
  • Doors open at 8:30am, including the dispensary
  • Emergency appointments bookable each day from 8 am
  • More pre-bookable appointments will be available
  • Extended hours, mainly for commuters, from 7:15am on alternate Wednesdays

Our aim is to prevent patients from having to wait for up to 3 hours to be seen and to improve our delivery of medical care.

Please see the Practice website for further details.

THANK YOU

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for your kindness, support and friendship not just in the weeks and months leading up to my retirement but for almost three decades. It has been a time for all of us to look back over these years, sharing both tears and laughter. We have come through a lot together. Your warmth and generosity have been overwhelming ; it has meant the world to me. Anne Lindsay

Our new Partner, Dr Andrew Cox, paid a visit to the Practice on Friday 5 May and met the staff who were around that day. He was in the area to research schools and to find a house. He starts with the Practice on Monday 14 August and is very much looking forward to settling into the area.

Welcome to the Aberfoyle and Buchlyvie Medical Centres Website

Repeat prescriptions can now be ordered via Patient Access. (https://patient.emisaccess.co.uk)   This is the same system we use for online appointment booking.  The system is much safer as it is linked directly to your clinical record at the Practice.    If you are not already registered for this service, please see the receptionist for a registration form.  ITEMS THAT DO NOT APPEAR ON YOUR REPEAT LIST SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE ORDERED IN YOUR USUAL WAY.  You can also order your prescriptions and make appointments via a Smart Phone App.  This can be downloaded via http://www.patient.info/accessapp.

Receptionists ask for reasons for appointments because

Essentially, our reception team ask for the reason why you need specific appointments for the following reasons:

To make sure you get the right appointment with the right person at the right time

To make sure you get the correct length of appointment for your requirements

To make sure you get the correct clinician

Most of all, the receptionists are doing exactly as they are instructed to do by the GP Partners. The receptionists ask you for information about your appointment as they are told to do so - not because they're being "nosy"! Please help them to help you by giving them the information they request.

Repeat Prescriptions

Do you need to re-order your medication? Visit our prescriptions page and complete the online form. Find out more

If you don't use it, we can't reuse it!

THINK before you order repeat medicines

CHECK what medicine you already have - and only

ORDER only what you need!

Wasted or unused medicines cost the NHS an estimated £100 million every year.
